1-Year Limited Installation Warranty
Effective for installations completed on or after January 1, 2026
What Is Covered
McDermott Top Shop LLC warrants to the original purchaser that your countertop installation will be free from defects in fabrication and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of installation. If a covered defect is identified within the warranty period, McDermott Top Shop LLC will, based on inspection and standard industry practices, repair or re-fabricate and reinstall the affected portion at no charge to the original purchaser.
Examples of covered defects include, but are not limited to:
- Seam failure or separation resulting from improper fabrication or adhesion
- Installation alignment defects, including countertop sections not level or plumb within standard tolerances
- Adhesion failures causing sections to shift, lift, or detach from the substrate
- Fabrication defects such as unfinished edges, incorrect cutout sizing, or visible tool marks not disclosed at installation
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Coverage determination will be made through on-site inspection in accordance with standard industry practices.
What Is Not Covered
- This warranty does not cover damage or conditions resulting from:
- Natural stone variation — veining, color variation, pitting, or fissures inherent to natural stone
- Heat damage caused by placing hot cookware, appliances, or other heat sources directly on the surface
- Impact damage, scratches, chips, or cuts caused by misuse
- Chemical damage from improper cleaning agents, including strong acids (e.g. tile or grout cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, oven cleaners), bleach-based products, abrasive powders or pads, and melamine foam cleaners (e.g. Magic Eraser). Refer to the enclosed Care & Maintenance Guide for approved cleaning methods
- Damage from excessive weight, standing, or sitting on the countertop
- Caulking separation after 90 days from installation — caulk is subject to normal movement from house settling and is a routine household maintenance item. Note: McDermott Top Shop LLC will perform one courtesy caulk touch-up within the first 90 days of installation at no charge upon request
- Staining from spills not promptly cleaned (food dye, wine, tea, fruit drinks, and similar substances)
- Damage caused by modification or repair performed by anyone other than McDermott Top Shop LLC
- Normal wear consistent with everyday use over time
