Our History

Founded in 1995 by Ron McDermott, McDermott Top Shop is a family-owned and operated company that has established itself as a premier countertop provider in the Milwaukee, WI area. Recognizing a market opportunity, Ron McDermott initially offered laminate and solid surface options to trade consumers. In 1997, the company expanded its reach through strategic partnerships, serving as a reliable countertop provider in the Wisconsin market.

As McDermott Top Shop experienced significant growth, the company relocated to a 12,000-square-foot facility in 2001. By 2005, they had expanded their offerings to include quartz and natural stone countertops. To accommodate further growth and enhance our capabilities, we designed and constructed a state-of-the-art 65,000-square-foot fabrication facility. This facility, built with safety, comfort, and future expansion in mind, allows us to serve as a strategic countertop partner to architects, dealers, designers, and builders across Wisconsin, eastern Iowa, southeast Minnesota, Michigan, and northern Illinois.
